American policy of waterboarding and ehanced interogation techniques.

After reading all the articles about the CIA admitting to the practice of waterboarding as a technique of interrogation as well as numerous other reports about the practices used i find a number of things coming to my mind.

Whether or not i agree with the practice i do find myself wondering what would be said if any opposing force decided to use the same processes against them. What would the response be to an opposing force capturing American soldiers and civilians and using techniques such as waterboarding against them in order to gain intelligence. What about opposing forces using extraordinary rendition to capture and extract American personnel from any country in the world to them be interrogated in undisclosed locations and for undisclosed periods of time.

I just think that if American personnel both military or non-military started being captured and interrogated that the reaction around the world would a very different matter to that which currently occurs when citizens of countries who are meant to be allies such as Canada, Germany and Great Britain are kidnapped, tortured and then released without charge the reaction would be very very different.

Indeed i think that if the Secret Services of Great Britain rendered an American Citizen which it considered to be a terrorist suspect that America would go ballistic.
